It also incorporates behaviorist ideas about reinforcement and practice to strengthen correct responses through immediate feedback and repeated opportunities to perform tasks. This combination makes it the best fit for describing how to structure instructional content with both cognitive and behavioral elements. In contrast, behavior analysis focuses on altering behavior through reinforcement and consequences but doesn’t prescribe the overall organization of instructional content. Ecology and ethology study relationships in environments and natural behavior, often in animals, not how to design teaching materials for humans.
